Waldorf salad

Originally invented in New York at the hotel of its namesake, this traditional Waldorf salad contains all of the original elements. Later editions include raisins and chicken, but we've stuck with the classic recipe, here.

4 red apples

1/4 cup lemon juice

5 stalks celery, trimmed, coarsely chopped

1 cup coarsely chopped roasted walnuts

1 cup mayonnaise

Method

1.Core unpeeled apples; cut into thin wedges.

2.Place apple in large serving bowl with remaining ingredients; toss gently to combine.
