Planning tips
Organise and consolidate the space in your fridge in the lead up to Christmas to allow for plenty of room. Vegetables such as onions, pumpkin, potatoes, garlic, tomatoes, avocado and stone fruit are all best stored at room temperature and herbs can be picked and lettuces trimmed and washed to free-up space.
Prep like a pro, doing as much of the meal as possible the day before. Take note of any ‘do-ahead’ guides on our recipes. You can often prep some Christmas side dish ingredients the day before.
For salads, wash and dry all salad greens so that they are easy to toss together on the day.
Soak herbs in a bowl of iced water until leaves look perky and fresh. Drain and pack herbs into takeaway containers, wrapped in moist paper towel to keep fresh.
